Goal: Lose baby weight + 30 lbs
Achieved so far: Baby weight is gone!
Pre-pregnancy weight: 221.0
Weight last week: 206.8
Current weight: 207.0
Weight loss/gain since last week: +0.2
TOTAL WEIGHT LOST (not including baby weight): -14.0
Funny thing, I am relieved. I was worried that last weeks weight loss was a fluke, that maybe I was dehydrated or the scale was wrong or something. But I've managed to pretty much keep that four pounds off for a week and that makes me H to the A to the P-P-Y!
We had a glorious weekend!
Friday was daddy's first official three day weekend. He has been put on a Monday through Thursday schedule now and will be home on Friday's.
We took Jocie to the dermatologist to get her birth mark checked out, then ended up going to Fiesta Time for dinner. I pigged out. I ate both of my Quesadilla Fajitas, all of my rice, tons of chips and salsa, and a few scoops of Ori's beans. But hey, I passed on the margarita(s).
In my defense I did work up an appetite on the treadmill doing the 15 incline for 40 minutes at 2.7 miles an hour. My ankle was hurting a little so I didn't want to run and man, cranking that incline up sure gets the sweat pouring!
Octavio got out and ran too. He was pretty bummed about not running the Mini Marathon but it was definitely for the best as far as his knee is concerned. There's always next year baby! By then I'll be able to keep up with you (yeah right!)
Saturday Octavio was my garage sale chauffeur. We drove around quite a bit and of course hit the jackpot at the last place we decided to stop at. Seriously among my first seven sales on Amazon I sold a video game for $39.00 (paid 2.57) and a DVD for $29.99 (paid $1.87). I'm back!
We spent Saturday afternoon doing one of my favorite workout routines - cleaning the house. Octavio took off the storms and put the screens in and I fixed up my office and organized all my "new-to-me" merchandise. When we sat down to our healthy dinner (chicken/spinach brats with peppers and onions) I asked my husband if he knew whether or not the Kentucky Derby Festival Balloon Race ever happened. It was postponed Saturday morning due to the weather. A couple minutes later I opened the blinds in the dining room and WOW what a sight!
The pic is a view from our front porch!
Since we were already outside we decided to go for a walk...
I got up early Sunday and was running outside by 7:20 a.m.! Go me and thanks babe for waking me up!
I got 650 crunches in this week and really worked out my arms too!
It is amazing what a difference crunches and weight lifting make in my running! I feel like I am much more balanced and I definitely can tell that my posture is improving. My arms really get pumping at the end of my run and carry me to the finish.
*pause for funny story*
Sometimes Ori gets a little heat rash after playing outside. It seems to be worse with certain sunscreens. When she came inside the other day her arm started itching and I told her it was a little heat rash. Almost immediately she started crying. Once I got her to calm down a bit I asked her what was wrong...
She thought I said she was a hot mess and for some reason that freaked her out! :)
Challenge:
Reflect -
Spend a moment or two thinking about how far you've come on your own journey on the Highway to Health. Post a little comment telling the rest of us about it...
...and don't forget to show me some love!
Why this challenge? Thinking about the Mini Marathon got me thinking...I am going to spend some time tonight going through some blogs from the past year or so. Ill post more tomorrow!

First off congrats on keeping your pounds off for an entire week! Thats great! I love the picture of the hot air balloons outside your window, that is absolutely beautiful. Keep up the good work Michelle!
I love your clip of the family's walk. I loved your smiling face most!
Congrats on keeping the weight off, even after pigging out! LOL. That's a LOT of crunches, I'll tell you.
I've found a tip to curb nighttime snacking (where I need help!)- brush your teeth! Right after dinner, brush your teeth. For some reason, it makes me pass on the popcorn or cheese and cracker plate. Well, most of the time anyway.
Have a great day!
Congrats on keeping off the pounds! Sounds like you guys had quite the productive weekend :)
I've come far on my Healthy Crusade because now I can play outside with Jake without getting out of breath. We walked the March of Dimes walk yesterday. 6 miles and 1 hour 30 minutes, so about 15 minutes a mile. That's not including a few tennis shoe ties (Jennifer) and bathroom breaks!
I saw you and Jakob yesterday Leigh Ann, just before the start of the race, but they were already lining us up to start!! We're walking another one (3 miles) on Saturday at Genesys Health Park if your interested.
Good work! I love seeing the videos of the girls too, they are too cute! I think I need to start doing crunches, my stomach is the part i want to tone up the most. Have a good day!
Woo-Hoo on keeping off the poundage! That is spectacular! I loved the video of you Ori honking her horn, it reminded me of Gladys and her scooter horn.
On my way to being healthy I get a little overwhelmed with new things I learn. This last week I learned I need to eat more calories a day. And doing so, has helped me lose weight. Who knew! I was eating too few cals and putting my body in starvation mode, so it held every ounce of fat it could. I am excited about being healthy!! Michael is even doing better with foods, not great, but a lot better! As long as I cut up that fruit, he eats eat! Woo-Hoo! Now, he just needs time to exercise! Thanks to you and your blog, you are helping our family stay encouraged to be healthy! We love you lots and thank God for you!
Hey Michelle,
you have inspired me to start my own blogspot. No not about healthy stuff, but about my walk with God. I am going to follow your type of format and write everyday, except for weekends and hopefully we can just spurn each other on spiritually like you do with us physically! Check it out and would love everybody else to check it out too if you'd like:

I kind of feel like a failure. I've been thinking about your challenge and trying to figure out how far I've come in my healthy lifestyle. How far have I come, really? Not really that far. I ate pretty good for the most part but focused on a few things that I could change: cut out evening snacking, more exercise, and being a motivator for my husband. I have cut down on evening snacks (not all!), exercise more (need to do even more), and have motivated Michael to a degree. I guess I expected these changes to not be so gradual and be there already. Am I impatient or what?? LOL. Thanks for the realistic view and it just means I have to keep at it.
Thanks Heather!
Leigh - your tip cracks me up! I did that last night! Anytime I know I am going to be up late waiting for Jocie to wake up and get her last evening feeding I brush my teeth!
Cheri and Leigh - Woohoo for being healthy and promoting a good cause!
Ash - Start crunching! I bet you see results within the first week!
Susan - I go to the doc next week to talk about calories amoung other things! I posted a link to your new blog on my page! I'm excited!
Leigh - Baby steps girl! You are making progress! Keep up the good work!
