Fat Talk and Free Stuff - No April Foolin'

Nothing could bring me down from yesterday's "Health High".

Nothing, that is, except shopping for a bathing suit.

Why did I have to do it yesterday? There I was, feeling great about myself and then I had to go and screw it up.

First off, I am mad at Lane Bryant. I mean, come on, you only sell bathing suits online? What's up with that. Of all the women in the world, those of us who wear a size 14 or larger need to try on a bathing suit before we commit to buying it. Give me a freakin' break.

Then, to muffin top it off, I am still just a smidgen too big to buy off the rack in the misses sizes at the department stores.

And don't get me started on the selection of suits in the "women's section".

So, how did I snap back into my good mood? I did what any of us should do who have lost serious weight and for some crazy reason are still down on themselves about it...I looked at pictures from the past and compared them to recent photos.

I couldn't believe this one...
That would be me in the pink. Oh my! Well, at least I have a great reason for having to shop for a suit so early in the season. Octavio's aunt and uncle are treating us to two nights at hotel in Indiana with an indoor water park. They are going to drive down from Michigan, and their daughter Marcie and her boyfriend are driving from St. Louis. It will be the first time they get to see Jocie and I am excited for that.

*totally off subject*

I have talked to quite a few people who talk about things I blog about but have never left me a comment. It got me to wondering, just how many people are reading this? If you are reading this and you've never left me a comment - let me know you're out there!

*Super Fun Announcement Time*

Healthy Chelle's Challenge Challenge

No, I that is not a typo. You are supposed to see the word "challenge" twice.

I am going to give away some fun, FREE stuff - NO APRIL FOOLIN'. The winner of Healthy Chelle's Challenge Challenge will receive a Healthy Chelle's Highway to Health goodie bag with some of my favorite healthy things. :)

There are three ways you can participate in Healthy Chelle's Challenge Challenge.
  1. Complete a challenge. Every time you leave me a comment saying you have completed a challenge I will enter your name in the drawing. Limit one comment per blog.

  2. Send me challenge ideas. Every time you send me a challenge idea I will enter your name in the drawing. NO LIMIT!

  3. Get a new friend to leave me a comment. Let your friends know about my blog. Anytime someone leaves a comment and says "so-and-so told me to check out your blog" I will enter that so-and-so's name in the drawing.
I have been completely honest in all aspects of this blog and I am going to trust that those of you who want to participate will be honest too! The contest will run through April 11th and the winner will be announced on April 14th.

LOL, ok, ok, I'm sorry- I'm "one of the bad ones" :) I tried getting on everyday, but am finding it hard to switch over to your site. Now I have it in my favorites :) No excuses, I'll be on everyday now! It's on like Donkey Kong! By the way, you should really send that picture and an updated one to the Biggest Loser web site, that is awesome!

Feel the burn!! I love wall pushups, makes me feel so much stronger! Ok. 20 out of the way, I think I might do like 20 more when my arms return from "Jell-o State" LOL

I've incorporated your wall push-ups into my nightly routine. I jump rope just about every night. Stretches, jumping jacks, and even sit ups (most nights). So, I'm joining your challenge just by keeping to my routine! :D

I am shocked at that picture. I just don't see you that way. I always loved your positive outlook and your constant smile in school, so you've always looked beautiful to me! Congrats on getting slimmer every week. I am SO proud of you!

Hey Michelle, it looks like you're doing great! I want to lose some weight myself, but have a hard time finding the time and honestly the motivation. It was my new years reasolution but after begging for my husband to get my Dad's tredmill for a over a month I've just lost the inspiration. It's too cold to do anything outside here and the treadmill was going to be my way to do it. I wanted to be able to run the Crim in August but it don't look like I'm going to reach that goal. You know though the one thing "larger" people need is sports leagues. I'd love to play soccer or something that's not full of a bunch of skinny teenagers that just make you feel worse about yourself, but they don't have anything like that. Maybe I should start one. lol Anyway just wanted you to know I do peek in here once in a while and I'm so happy for you and to let you know you are doing wonderful.

I did the challenge today and was pleasantly surprised at how little it hurt (the noise, however, from the crackling and popping in my shoulders, elbows and wrists was deafening). I'm going to do this everyday, I think. Thanks!

Congrats on your progress, Michelle! I have always admired your drive and ability to stick to it. I admire you even more now.
