Bomb Diggity

Last night was the first night in about four days that I had a nice, healthy dinner.

It tasted SOOOOOOO good!

What was it?

Simply grilled chicken breast, brown rice, fresh green beans, and a salad.

Funny how something I would have turned my nose up to and been extremely disappointed in two years ago can be so mouth watering now.

*Train Talk*

The weather is cooling down a bit for the next couple of days. Cool as in high 70s, low 80s. I am going to try to get outside tonight and get a run in. It has been a loooong while since I tried to go full speed. I think my knee is ready for it.

I am running a race on Saturday with my speedy friend, LaVonda, and although I probably won't finish with her, I am hoping to keep up for a while at least.

How are you all doing with your training? Are you enjoying it or finding it a chore?

I remember when I first started running it was solely because it was the only thing that seemed to help me drop weight. I found though, that the more I did it, the more I actually found myself enjoying it. I don't know how many times in my life I have made smart aleck comments about running but I totally take them all back.

Running is the bomb diggity and I love it!

Your dinner sounds yummy! Isn't it funny how we can train ourselves to enjoy a certain tiype of food. Against my husband's wishes, I would continue to buy wheat bread. Now he calls white bread "crap." LOL. You're doing a great job!

I have a love/hate relationship with training. The hate part is that 6am comes way too soon for me. ha! Yet it's the only time I really have to run. Also, I have weak ankles and if I run for too long, they kill me. Blah blah. The love part is that I finally have ME time and instead of timing myself on the run (one minute, two minutes) I've been "talking" with God instead. I also love how energized I am throughout the day because of my run in the morning. I usually feel pretty good about myself on the days I run. I've only been going, at most, two miles. My ankles, not wanting to get up sooner than 6am, and not knowing what route to take all factor into that reason. Lame, I know. I'm interested to hear about how training is going with your other readers.

I really like this training thing. But, in I still can't run that much. I really think I have sports induced asthma or something about hotter weather affecting my breathing. When we played v-ball on Sunday in that crazy hot weather, I had to stop after few games because I could tell my breathing was weird. So, I can't wait until cooler weather to start running harder. Last night we had a healthy meal and we did the grilled grean beans and that was the bomb diggity! Dillon First was over and he loved those green beans! Thanks for showing us that cool trick! Have a great day!
