Bra Talk

*First, a funny Ori story (there is a level of grossness involved)*

My daughter is infatuated with flatuation right now. Every conversation turns into one about farts.

I know some people out there think fart is a bad word and prefer "toot", "breaking wind", or "passing gas", but the Castaños say "fart". Sorry if it offends you.

Anyhoo - a couple of mornings ago she came into my bedroom and got in bed with Jocie and I. She said she wanted to tell me something she did last night in bed and started giggling so hard that she had tears coming out of her eyes. Finally, she calmed down enough to get the words out -

"I farted on my hand and smelled it."

And I was sure I would bypass grossology by having daughters instead of sons...

*back on track*

I am having a good morning. Octavio is home and that always makes me smile. I love having three day weekends with him every weekend. He is my man and I love him.

Yesterday afternoon we went to Lane Bryant. I know, I know, I already wrote her a Dear John letter, but like I said, I still fit into their bras and man, oh man, did I need some new ones.

I thought the ones I currently have were too big around and that I just needed to get a size smaller in the length around. I have really been putting it off because all of my bras are in great shape, some are like brand new.

*side note*

Washing your bras by hand really helps them to keep much longer!

*back to bra talk*

I was having trouble finding the right fit so I decided to get measured. Man, I was WAY OFF!

I thought I was a 42B and I was a 40C!

Seriously, the difference in the shape of my curves under my shirt when I have the right size on is AMAZING. I am much, much, MUCH more pleased with my looks!

AND I am a C! :)

*Yet another side note*

Some of my friends from my past are probably thinking "didn't Michelle used to have really big knockers back in the day?"

Yes, my friends, I did. And in 2002 I had a reduction. :)

*Enough boob talk*

My mom sent me an IM this morning that I'd like to share -

Mom: This morning I was reading the bible and praying....in my bible (that pam gave me) there are prayers with blanks in it to put someones name in. I usually flip through and put all my family's names somewhere. This morning I am behind schedule a little bit so I shut the bible before I did that. Then I thought...well I at least want to pray for Michelle. So I flipped open and this is what GOD gave me to pray for you (and Octavio) Father of mercies and God of all comfort, please comfort Michelle and Octavio in all their tribulations, that they may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which they themselves are comforted by You. 2Cor 1:3-4. I thought that was PERFECT

God really does care about every little hair on our heads

Love you all and also praying you will have a great Friday and safe ball games

by the way...you really can smell a fart on your hand

Gotta love mommy!

Oh yeah, and NO TERMITES!

I loved this email. YOu know from Sunday, that I loved Ori's farting! She is hilarious! I also loved learning about bra size, I think I need to go fitted for one. I don't have much to fit for, but it would still be a good thing. And your mom's prayer, wow, how fitting for all that is going on. She is amazing! See ya soon. Susan

What a great story about Ori, made me smile specially since my day has started out so crappy. But it is Friday the 13th.

Glad you took the time to go get fitted correctly, i know that the right size bra can do wonders. I remember when I got my first one from Lane braynt a few years ago that was fitted correctly and was amazed by the amount of clevage I actually had. The first day I wore it with a v-neck I kept dropping stuff down into my cleavage.lol.. I was not used to having any..lol..

Yay on no termites! What's eating at your drywall? Hope you guys get it resolved soon with no hassle!

Funny you mentioned the bra fitting. My mom told me that she went and got herself fitted and was surprised that she was buying the wrong size all these years. She's been encouraging me to get fitted too since it's done wonders to her (not just physically, but to her psyche too). I really want to because mine are so uncomfortable that I always want to rip them off as soon as I get home. If they fit correctly, they are actually comfortable, or so I hear.

Moving on- I loved that Ori was comfortable enough to share that with you. You guys are going to have the kind of bond even when she's a teenager and that's important. I mean, you remember being a teenager! My favorite part is that she was laughing so hard that she had tears in her eyes. She's precious!

Have a great weekend!

I am so happy to hear that there are no termites!

The fart smelling thing, yeah, my older sisters used to do that to me and Mark when our parents first got married. Of course the worst was when the power was out in the house in the summer from a storm and they decided to torment us.

I actually went with my mom to get fitted for a masectomy bra, big ones run in the family- she was a G. I'd rather not say mine, just big :) LOL

Comment #10: I love that Ori has such a great sense of humor and that she shares it with you. That relationship will make a difference when she's older. Mine are getting there and I can already tell it's gonna be a good thing!
Hmmmm! Wonder if I need to get sized for a bra. Maybe.
I knew I loved your mom the first time I met her and chatted with her in the nursery. She rocks!!
Love you!
